Payback Records music label was launched in 2008 by Indigenous Essendon AFL footballer Nathan Lovett-Murray. He set up the recording studio to give young indigenous people a voice through hip hop music.
He has just produced an album, “Life on the Run”, by emerging artist Corinthian Morgan aka Mr Morgz. Mr Morgan was on remand at the time, so Payback Records put up his bail and he had to report to the police every second day while he was recording. Lovett-Murray even managed to secure funding from the Police Youth Foundation to produce the album.
Mr Morgan has been found not guilty of all but one charge, for which he received a suspended sentence, and has just completed a national tour.
