The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner Tom Calma has launched The Overburden Report: Contracting for indingenous Health Services, authored by Professor Judith Dwyer and Uning Marlina and Kim O’Donnell.

The main thrust of the report is that Aboriginal health services are funded in more complex ways, and from more sources, that equivalent mainstream health organisations. This places a high burden of administration on the services, taking resources away from provision of quality care.
